Here at St. Leonard’s Youth, we’re building a community where all are welcome to belong, believe, and grow. Young people at St. Leonard’s have the chance to grow through leadership, social gatherings, and times of worship.
LifeEdge is our fortnightly youth gathering for high school students. We meet on the 2ndand 4th Sunday of the month during school term. With our passion for social justice, LifeEdge has contributed hundreds of dollars to KIVA microfinancing through creative and exciting fundraising efforts, and the practical outworking of faith is an important part of what our young people believe.
The Breakfast Club is the high school Sunday School group that runs weekly during New Wave Worship. We share food and catch up about the week while we come together around the theme of the day’s service. All high school age youth are welcome!
Social Justice Focused
The Youth and Young Adults at St. Leonard’s Uniting Church believe that Jesus calls us to act to bring justice and peace to the world. We engage with society at a local, national, and international level through advocacy, fundraising, prayer and thoughtful consumer choices. Our current interests are in fair trade, micro-finance, homelessness in Melbourne, and advocacy and support for asylum seekers.
Glass Darkly Youth Band
All high school aged young people are welcome to join our youth worship band, ‘Glass Darkly’. Glass Darkly play a variety of worship music at our New Wave Worship Service around once a month. All instruments and skill levels are welcome to have a jam!
This is just a small part of the many activities run for Youth and Young Adults at St. Leonard’s Uniting Church.
