Lent is coming
Lent begins with our Ash Wednesday service on 6 March, 7.30pm
This year our theme is, ‘Living, in the times we’re in’
Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of the season of Lent. Lent is a time of preparation as we head to Easter.
In this service we celebrate Holy Communion, and we mark our foreheads with the sign of a cross in ashes, signifying our humanity and mortality.
‘Living, in the times we’re in’ is our Lenten theme.
The theme relates to celebrating and living a good life in these times that we share.
But, more than that, it raises the question: ‘How do we live as Christians in these times of change, challenge and conflict?’; “How are we called to live and act in these our times?’
Thinking faith newly – As Lent unfolds a series of ‘thinking and reflection dispatches’ will be released, under the theme, ‘Living in the times we’re in’.
Each dispatch will include a short, spirited and perhaps thought-provoking reflection raising innovative ways to approach Jesus’ message and Christian faith.
- Faith as fruitfulness
- Faith as colony
- Faith as beyond – Ultima Thule
- Faith as crossing borders
- Faith in crisis
